- Open Outlook Express
- Click on “Tools”
- Click on “Accounts”
- Click on “Add”
- Click on “Mail
- Outlook Express will now start the installation wizard to set up your Skynet email account. The first screen asks you to enter your “Display Name”. This name will be displayed along with your email address on all outgoing mail.
- Enter a display name and click on NEXT.
- Now enter the email address you set up when your Skynet system was installed and click NEXT.
- Enter “mail.skynethouston.com” (without the “ “) into both the incoming AND outgoing mail server boxes then click NEXT.
- On this screen, you will enter your account information. For account name, enter your ENTIRE email address.
- Enter your password into the password box and make sure that “Remember password” is checked but that “Log in using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)” is NOT checked. Click NEXT.
- The next screen will tell you that you have successfully set up your email account. There is actually one more step.
- Click on FINISH.
- You will now be returned to the “Accounts” page of Outlook Express. You will notice a new account called “mail.skynethouston.com”. Double left click on this new account to open the properties page of this account.
- Click on the tab that says “Servers”.
- Beneath the “Outgoing mail server” portion of this page is an option which says “My server requires authentication”. Check this option and then click “OK”.
You have now set up your Skynet email in Outlook Express.
